WWE Summerslam 2013 results

WWE Summerslam 2013 results

WWE Summerslam 2013 took place in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, Aug. 18. The results is two new champions being crowned and many controversial decisions taking place.

Dean Ambrose retained his United States title on the Summerslam kick-off show, but it was Rob Van Dam winning the match. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns came down to ringside to interrupt as RVD was about to hit a Frogsplash on Ambrose. However, Big Show and Mark Henry arrived to ringside as backup for RVD. Late in the match, RVD had control of things after hitting Rolling Thunder. He set up and hit a Frogsplash off the corner and had what appeared to be a win, but Roman Reigns got into the ring and speared him, causing a disqualification. Mark Henry and Big Show chased off The Shield and checked on RVD on the mat..

In the opening match of the pay-per-view event, Kane and Bray Wyatt fought inside a "Ring of Fire." Flame strips were on each side of the ring and shot flames higher with every slam to the mat. The Wyatt Family's Rowan and Harper watched from the outside throughout and tried to find ways to get into the ring to help out their leader. They attempted to hand a kendo stick in to Bray but it caught on fire. They also tried to extinguish the flames to no avail.

Finally, they found a flame retardant blanked on the outside of the ring and tossed it on one flame strip, before getting into the ring and attacking Kane. Ultimately, they set Kane up for Bray Wyatt's finishing move, and he won via pinfall. They followed up by slamming half the steel steps down on Kane's head at the bottom of the ramp with Bray watching from a rocking chair.

In other action, Cody Rhodes won via pinfall over his former tag partner, Damien Sandow. Rhodes blocked a late move from Sandow, then hit a quick Cross Rhodes to get the big pinfall win over one of the Money in the Bank winners.

WWE Summerslam 2010 Team Cena Vs Nexus Elimination Match

It featured The Nexus, composed of former WWE NXT 'rookies' led by the season's winner Wade Barrett, against 'Team WWE', that is led by John Cena. The Nexus made their debut as a collective unit on the June 7 episode of Raw, attacking Cena, CM Punk, and members of the ringside crew, on the pretext of demanding guaranteed WWE contracts for all of them. The following week on Raw, the then-General Manager Bret Hart refused and as a result, The Nexus attacked him, incapacitating him, and forcing WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to appoint a new, anonymous General Manager, who ultimately signed all members of The Nexus to the show. The Nexus continued to frequently attack various WWE Superstars, crew, and legends to display their dominance, although they focused mainly on Cena, costing him the WWE Championship twice. On the July 19 episode of Raw, Cena confronted The Nexus, who offered him a place in their stable, which he refused and instead revealed that he had assembled a team, christened 'Team WWE' (consisting of Cena himself, Edge, Chris Jericho, John Morrison, R-Truth, The Great Khali, and Bret Hart), to face The Nexus in a seven-on-seven tag team match at SummerSlam. On the July 26 episode of Raw, the anonymous general manager changed the match to an elimination format. Following dissension on Cena's team in the next few weeks, Edge and Jericho left the SummerSlam match on the August 2 episode of Raw. They rejoined the following week, however, when The Nexus tried to attack the members of Team WWE and Edge and Jericho. On the same episode of Raw, Khali was attacked by The Nexus, removing him from the match at SummerSlam. The Miz offered his services to the team as Khali's substitute, ultimately saying he would reveal his final decision at SummerSlam itself.
